The latest Ecobee thermostat has gradually improved upon the original design and premise of what a thermostat can bee (pun). The functionality of Alexa rivals Amazon's own devices and everything just works as it should. They continue to innovate with features and functionality that categorical transforms your thermostat into an integral part of your smart home. The updated smart sensor is much more stylish and less utilitarian and adds a host of additional features. The speaker is surprisingly robust and capable of more than just interacting with Alexa. I have not fully tested spotify or voice calls yet, but I do not doubt sound quality will not be an issue.

There's no support for geothermal sync water temp. No support for local home automation, always goes through their website. Community is at the same time very helpful and toxic while blind to the shortcomings of the product.
